Brandon Rae

He isn't your typical nineteen-year-old. A self-educated individual from the West Island of Montreal, Brandon is a natural at going against the grain. Deemed a "Young Renaissance Man" by his former professors, he intends to absorb as much knowledge as possible during his life.

Brandon is an experienced music journalist looking to expand his palette in the industry; So it was only reasonable that he joined the Filter Box Media family with undivided enthusiasm. If he's not in his office, Brandon can usually be spotted on St-Laurent boulevard in a cozy venue, drinking water and listening to a fantastic live performance. Never one to fantasize about his future career, the young man dreams to either find the cure for aging or live to 100 years old.

1. Quick Facts

   - First concert ever?

   When I was 15 years old I went to go see my at-the-time favorite emcee, Talib Kweli perform at Metropolis. I will definitely never forget that night!

   - Do you play any instruments?

   I used to play the trumpet in elementary school.

   - What is your favorite way to discover new music?

   Last.fm has most definitely been my favorite tool for discovering new music.

   - How many concerts and local shows do you attend per year?

   Anywhere from 20-35.

   - Why you wanted to work at Filter Box Media?

   Montreal-based music marketing company with an independent approach. When I read that sentence aloud, it's poetry to my ears.
