#MusicMonday - Restoring Poetry in Music, Blackalicious, k-os

music monday
While I consider myself an aficionado of all genres of music, there’s no doubt that hip-hop is my forté. As a young boy developing my own taste in music, it was the engaging wordplay and neck-breaking rhythms that made me turn to hip-hop as my foundation. While the formula of great beat and great rhymes is quite simple to win me over, a lot of emcees these days are choosing quirky gimmicks over lyrical content. With that being said, hip-hop is both my favorite and least favorite genres. At the end of the day, if you’re a talented artist ensuring that your delivery is charismatic and your content is passionate, you’re representing the culture as best as you can. Happy #MusicMonday everybody!
