This past week we had the pleasure of attending a show at the Montreal Jazz Festival featuring our talented intern Elizabeth Skalak. It’s almost September and “summer’s almost gone” - thank you Jim Morrison for consistently coming to mind when August comes around. July flew by as usual - busy and productive with many new opportunities for Filter Box Media. Laura and I have had the opportunity to attend some really great concerts and meet some really great people. Here’s a recap of some of the highlights:

Its been an excellent experience working with a great band that hails from New York and that has some roots in Montreal. Needless to say we’ve been quite impressed with Tragic Orange from day one. The band recently made a trip north of the border and left quite an impact on everyone who attended their show at Pub St. Paul on May 22 in Montreal.

We recently had the pleasure of working with some great artists during the Skate 4 Cancer: The Cure is Knowledge Tour when it stopped by Montreal on May 4th. Shad, Elephant and Matthew Johnston gave the audience three awesome energy-packed sets. continue

The sun was shining as I approached Jacques Cartier Pier at the Old Port of Montreal, with anticipation growing to see longtime favorites of mine - The Roots and Erykah Badu. We recently had a great night with October Sky at their video launch party at McKibbin’s pub. With an awesome turnout of fans and friends we celebrated the release of October Sky’s first music video for their single Hit the Ground.

Friday April 18, 2008 marks the anticipated launch of October Sky’s first music video for their single ‘Hit the Ground’, along with the band’s official website. October Sky will be hosting a launch party at McKibbin’s Irish Pub at 8pm with a viewing of the video scheduled for friends and fans alike. continue
